subsystems, and TFT-LCD display products, today announced a capacity upgrade to its SATA interface XceedUltraX and XceedSecure solid-state drive (SSD) product lines.
Housed in a 2.5” form factor, the new 16-mm high 256GB SSDs include all of the battle-tested attributes of the current XceedUltraX and XceedSecure products. Additionally, the new SSDs feature a SATA 3Gb/s interface, commercial (0°C to 70°C) and industrial (-40°C to 85°C) operating temperature ranges, high shock and vibration characteristics, and the full complement of EraSure® protocols, including current defense and IRIG
106-07 data declassification standards on the XceedSecure versions. Support for Smart Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) provides access to diagnostic information, such as drive
temperature and spares monitoring, that can assist in predicting drive degradation.

The SMART 256GB XceedUltraX and XceedSecure SSDs comply with MIL-STD-810F environmental specifications for operating shock, vibration, humidity and altitude, and each drive passes a demanding eight-hour, full-temperature range burn-in test prior to shipment.
Availability of these 256GB SSDs is scheduled for September 2009.
